Tanzania reverses trend in maternal and newborn deaths
Maternal health is one of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, which aims to reduce the number of deaths to 70 per 100,000 live births by 2030.
Tanzania's efforts to combat maternal and newborn deaths appear to be paying off, with recent data showing a significant drop in the number of deaths.
And experts are pointing to a programme known as the Safer Births Bundle of Care (SBBC), which Tanzania launched to target rural and marginalised communities to help them access maternal care services.
