Ingabire in last ditch attempt to overturn guilty verdict, arguing law used to indict her was flawed

On October 5, the Supreme Court will rule on the application by opposition politician Victoire Umuhoza Ingabire seeking to overturn the some of the charges she is facing on grounds that the law was applied retrogressively.

If she succeeds, the leader of FDU-Inkingi, an opposition political party yet to be registered, could escape some of the serious charges she is facing including promoting genocide ideology, genocide denial and propagating ethnic divisions.
