Come have your tipple at Giporoso; the ‘hood that never sleeps
Giporoso! This was the first place I genuinely wanted to check out when I first arrived in Kigali a few years ago. You see, there are certain charming names with alluring, colourful associations — Nyamirambo, Gikondo, Kimironko, Gisementi... Likewise Giporoso.
It is a suburb — or, more precisely, a slum — located near Kigali International Airport, just after the ever-busy Remera neighbourhood. It has several upbeat bars and lodgings and is the hub of prostitutes in Kigali.
