A few days ago, both the African Commission for Human and People’s Rights (ACHPR) and the UN fact-finding mission created to investigate and document mass atrocities that have been happening in Sudan since April 2023 alerted the African Union Peace and Security Council and the United Nations Human Rights Council of their alarming findings.
Sudan has been engulfed in one of the most brutal conflicts in its history for over two years, marred by a myriad of grave violations of human rights and international humanitarian law amounting to atrocity crimes, including war crimes and crimes against humanity.
