Why South Africa could deny work permits to Kenyan expats on Afrikaner ‘refugee’ assignment
The US Department of State has requested the South African government to expedite visa issuance for approximately 30 employees based in Kenya, enabling them to help manage the processing of Afrikaner asylum seekers.
South Africa intends to refuse work permits to Kenyans tasked with processing refugee visas for the Afrikaner community, signalling the first point of protest by Pretoria.
A source at the South African Home Affairs Ministry said Pretoria won’t provide the job permits in a subtle show of discomfort, after the US outsourced the assignment to process controversial South African refugees from the white communities who feel marginalised and targeted.
