UK 'rushed' to impose travel ban over new Covid strain, South Africa says

The South African government has slammed the UK government over a “rushed” decision to place it on a travel red list following the emergence of a new highly mutated Covid-19 strain.
On Thursday, the UK announced it had placed South Africa and five other African countries on its red list. The others are Zimbabwe, eSwatini, Namibia, Lesotho and Botswana.
