Members of the United Nations Security Council have expressed anger over unending violence in Sudan, which is closing the year as Africa’s largest producer of refugees and displaced people.
At a briefing on Sudan and neighbouring South Sudan, Council members issued stark warnings about the deepening conflict, condemning atrocities committed by both the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and their rivals, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). They cautioned that the country is edging closer to more mass atrocities, including the risk of genocide.
