Deposed PM Hamdok forms new group in Nairobi seeking third force in Sudan war
Sudan's top general Abdel Fattah al-Burhan (L) and Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok lift documents during a deal-signing ceremony to restore the transition to civilian rule in the country in the capital Khartoum, on November 21, 2021.
Sudan’s ousted Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok this week established a new group of allied movements that singled out the military government for criticism, but fell short of endorsing the rival Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The developments mean that the group has a common enemy with the RSF in the Sudanese junta, even though the rebels say they aren’t yet in a coalition with the new movement.
