Fresh off his new party’s emphatic victory in last week’s parliamentary by-election, former Kenyan Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua has lined up a campaign to consolidate support in the country’s populous Mount Kenya region.
Mr Gachagua, the leader of Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), is in the coming days expected to tour Meru and Embu counties, to amplify his message that the region needs to remain united behind his leadership to strengthen its bargaining power in the emerging political alliances in the country ahead of the 2027 elections.
