Tanzania's ruling party Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) on Saturday named former Foreign minister and United Nations senior official Asha-Rose Migiro as its secretary-general, taking over from Emmanuel Nchimbi, President Samia’s running mate.
Dr Migiro's appointment was announced alongside CCM's unveiling of its approved list of parliamentary candidates for the upcoming election at the conclusion of a protracted nominations process that began in late June.
