Uganda goes to the polls on Thursday with 21.6 million registered voters, eight presidential candidates and an election bill nearing $380 million – one of the most expensive polls in the country’s history.
For the seventh time since the return of multiparty elections, voters will choose a president and members of Parliament, in a contest that is formally competitive but historically predictable.
