Kenya’s Covid-19 cases rise to 95,431 as 212 more recover

Kenya has recorded 236 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, raising the cumulative number to 95,431.

While releasing the figures Thursday afternoon, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the new cases were reported from a sample of 3,773.

The cumulative tests in Kenya now stand at 1,025,653.

In the same period, four more patients succumbed to the disease, raising deaths from the virus in Kenya to 1,652.

Mr Kagwe also announced that 212 patients recovered from Covid-19 in the same period, raising total recoveries to 76,720. He revealed that 173 of those who recovered were in home-based care while 39 were discharged from various hospitals.

The Health CS also revealed that 768 patients are currently admitted to various hospitals in Kenya with another 3,636 being in home-based care. He added that 42 of the patients are in intensive care with 20 being on ventilator support and 20 on supplemental oxygen while the remaining two are on observation.
