DR Congo’s Tshisekedi removes army chief in major shake-up

President Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo has made major changes to the military leadership, removing the army chief amid mounting conflict in the east of the country. 

Lt-Gen Jules Banza Mwilambwe is the new Chief of General Staff of the Fardc, the Congolese army, replacing General Christian Tshiwewe Songesha, who held the post for just over two years.
