Some 12.3 million people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Palestine, and Sudan were internally displaced in 2024, representing nearly 60 percent of the global total for conflict-related displacement, according to the latest Global Report on Internal Displacement 2025 published on May 13 by the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC).

In South Sudan, natural disasters and conflict caused 423,000 flood displacements last year.
