Nearly two years after an African Union rights body asked South Sudanese authorities to reverse the cancellation of a former lawmaker’s citizenship, she is still fighting to regain it.
The case centres on Afekuru Animu Rasasi Amiati, a former South Sudanese MP whose citizenship was revoked by President Salva Kiir’s government in 2021.
