Chad's former prime minister and opposition leader Succes Masra has been handed a 20-year jail term for inciting violence that led to deadly inter-community clashes in the country in May.
The criminal chamber of N'Djamena's Court of Appeal on Saturday found Masra, a fierce critic of President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, guilty of hate speech, xenophobia and inciting a massacre, charges the opposition leader had denied.
