South Sudan has broken ground on an inland container depot in Naivasha, signalling its intention to use the long-awaited logistics facility days after President Salva Kiir asked President William Ruto to address high cargo handling fees.

The development makes South Sudan the first of five regional countries allocated land in Naivasha to begin developing a facility, potentially breathing life into the underused depot.
