Kenya’s National Treasury and the central bank are preparing a common reporting platform for bond trading, an attempt to address transparency concerns.

The system, once in place, will enable government bonds on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) to have easier price discovery and be traded in transparency. The decision could end a push by commercial banks to run a parallel platform rivalling the NSE.
