Co-operative Bank Group has maintained strong growth in South Sudan despite a severe liquidity crisis, political instability and declining oil revenues in the world’s youngest nation.
The bank’s South Sudan subsidiary more than tripled its profit before tax (PBT) to KSh224 million ($1.73 million) in the six months to June 30, from KSh56.9 million ($441,085) in the corresponding period last year.
