The East African Community could gain more from the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) if countries domesticate and align regional and national laws with the continental protocols.
Experts say East African Legislative Assembly (Eala) lawmakers should encourage their home countries to move beyond ratification and enact implementation statutes that could adopt AfCFTA as local policy.
