Diplomats raise red flags over Tanzania’s business reforms

Diplomats in Tanzania have warned that foreign investors still face regulatory hurdles, complex licensing procedures and an unpredictable tax regime despite government plans for a new reform blueprint.
The concerns emerged this week during a workshop in Dar es Salaam where foreign envoys reviewed the government’s proposed National Strategy for Improving the Investment Climate and Business Environment, a key pillar of Tanzania’s Vision 2050 development agenda launched in July 2025.
