At least two people were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a vehicle went off at a busy street in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Tuesday afternoon.
Local reports indicate that the car belonged to outspoken MP Dahir Amin Jesow. He, however, was not in the car at the time of the incident.
The blast occurred near the popular Maka-al-Mukarrama Hotel. Security officers arrived swiftly at the scene.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the incident although the jihadist group Al-Shabaab usually claim responsibility for such attacks.
