The region’s leading comedians will be back in Kigali on June 28 and June 29 to perform for Kigali’s comedy lovers at the Expo Grounds, Gikondo, and Kigali Serena Hotel, respectively.
Uganda’s Anne Kansiime, Patrick Idringi Salvador, Eric Muhangi and Naboth Fisher aka M7 will join Kenyan siblings Eric Omondi and Fred Omondi, as well as homeboys Arthur Nkusi and Ronnie Nsengiyumva on stage.
It will be the second time the Kings of Comedy, now dubbed “MTN Kings of Komedy”, are performing in Kigali following the successful Carwash show of March 29.
According to the organisers, Glam Investments Ltd, the MTN Kings of Komedy show will take place every two months and will feature regional and continental comedians.
“Our target is to bring one big comedian from the continent along with all leading comedians from the East African region,” says Eric Mugisha of Glam Investments. “We realised the people of Kigali were missing out on comedy.”
To spice up the evening, musicians Navio from Uganda and Rwanda’s Uncle Austin will perform on both shows. The performers have promised Kigali residents an entertaining show.
“The last time I was in Kigali I gave a quarter of what I can deliver on stage. I can guarantee that the people of Rwanda will enjoy the best of comedy,” said Salvador ahead of the two shows.
Tickets for the June 28 Expo Ground show go for Rwf5,000 while the VIP ticket is at Rwf10,000. The VVIP show at the Kigali Serena will cost Rwf15,000.
All tickets will have a bonus of airtime worth 10 per cent of the value, courtesy of MTN.
