Beauty for Ashes has added impetus in Rwanda’s gospel music industry following their recent performance.
The rock band is not only felt through songs but also live performances such as Hari ayandi Amashimwe, which was staged on November 29 at the Kigali-based Christian Life Assembly Church.
Even though the band, which started in 2010 has not been seen in a concert for nearly two years, it attracted commendable audience.
Through songs such as Surprise, Nu wa mbere and Nyigisha, the five-man band staged an electrified performance with rock rhythms.
The Band members are Benjamin Iyakaremye (Bass guitar), Maximo Niyomungeri (percussionist), Christian Bizimana (keyboard), Olivier Kavutse (guitarist and vocalist) and Amanda Sung.
Olivier Kavutse, one of the band leaders said they have discovered freedom through gospel music.
“We are trying to inform people that there is much more to just singing,” he said.
