US military in Somalia have conducted an air attack against Al-Shabaab militia, killing two fighters.

“In coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, US forces conducted an airstrike targeting al-Shabaab militants approximately 46 kilometers northeast of Kismayo, Somalia, killing two terrorists,” US military's Africa Command said Wednesday.

No civilians were injured or killed in the attack.

US has conducted a series of airstrikes this year targeting the Al-Qaeda-affiliated group as part of a broader push by Washington to increase anti-jihadist actions across the region.

“US forces will continue to use all authorised and appropriate measures to protect US citizens and to disable terrorist threats,” Africom added.
