Uganda has discharged three Covid-19 patients after they tested negative for the disease.

Dr Henry Mwebesa, the director general of health services, on Saturday said the trio were released after two consecutive negative results, each 24 hours apart.

They were handed certificates of recovery by Prime Minister Dr Ruhahana Rugunda at the Entebbe Hospital where they had been admitted.

They will now undergo psychosocial support before being reintegrated back into the community.

Meanwhile, 15 others are set to be discharged on Monday once the ministry of health completes community sensitisation, according to Health Minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng’.

The minister added that none of the 53 patients has exhibited severe symptoms of the disease.
