Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari arrived home on Saturday after spending more than three months in London where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.
The plane carrying the president landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at about 4:30pm (1530 GMT).
He was received by senior government officials led by his deputy Yemi Osinbajo, who had been acting president in his absence.
The 74-year-old leader left for the British capital on May 7.
His prolonged absence in the country caused tensions with some calling for him to resign or return.
He is scheduled to address the nation in a broadcast on Monday morning.
